A Healthy School Year Can Start With Something as Simple as a Mosquito Net
For many families in Cameroon, preparing for a new school year means making difficult choices.
School fees. Uniforms. Books. Supplies.
With so much to provide, replacing an old or damaged mosquito net may not be at the top of the list.
Yet malaria remains a major threat to children’s health. Sleeping under an insecticide-treated mosquito net is an important way to prevent malaria—but a net that is old, torn, or no longer effective may not provide the protection a child needs.
And when malaria strikes, the consequences can reach the classroom. A child misses school. A parent may miss work. A family faces unexpected medical expenses.
Because preparing a child for school shouldn’t stop at books and uniforms. A successful school year starts with a healthy child.
This August, Jedidiah Dream Initiative is coming alongside Clinique BeWell through its annual Rentrée Scolaire Sans Maladie campaign —Healthy Back to School.
Our goal is simple:
Help provide 100 children with 100 insecticide-treated mosquito nets and essential health resources for a healthier school year.

While Clinique BeWell’s healthcare team provides medical consultations, vaccination reviews, assessment for deworming, malaria screening when indicated, and practical health workshops, JDI is helping provide the resources children can take home and continue using after the campaign.
Every participating child will go home with a Health Kit containing an insecticide-treated mosquito net, reusable water bottle, toothbrush, toothpaste, and other essential resources.
Children will also receive an illustrated booklet on six simple habits for a healthy school year, reinforcing what they learn through practical workshops on malaria prevention, handwashing, oral hygiene, and other healthy habits.
We want every child to leave not only better protected, but with the knowledge, tools, and healthy habits to help them stay well throughout the school year.
Our goal is 100 children. 100 mosquito nets. 100 healthier starts to the school year.
And you can help us get there.
Just $20 can help provide one child with an insecticide-treated mosquito net, essential health resources, and preventive health education through the Healthy Back to School campaign.
$20 can help one child.
$100 can help five children.
$200 can help ten children.
Your gift is more than a mosquito net.
It is one more child better protected from malaria—and with a better chance to stay healthy, stay in school, and keep learning.
